As an OG blogger and food/drink journalist, I’ve seen my fair share of drink tumblers. And I have to say that I haven’t really treated them with respect. In addition to being a lover of cocktails, I’m also a huge fragrance fan. So when I received a note about the return of Elijah Craig Char No. 3 Cologne, the fragrance that sold out in December, I knew I had to get a whiff. And that I did.

First released late last year, Elijah Craig Char No. 3 Cologne is described as capturing “the warm, smoky, and sophisticated essence of the charred oak barrels that shape Elijah Craig's signature depth.” While you can expect layers of charred wood, spice and subtle sweetness, the specific fragrance notes include birchwood, cocoa, juniper berry, lavandin, nutmeg, oak barrel, orange blossom, pineapple and tonka bean.

Not to sound dramatic, but I really had no idea that Cutwater’s new Chocolate Espresso Martini would become my second favorite flavor from the brand. I truly didn’t. I’ve had their regular Espresso Martini flavor on several occasions and I don’t remember being that impressed. The Chocolate Espresso Martini on the other hand? Sheesh!

I’m not a big chocolate fan, and I just knew that the chocolate flavor in Cutwater’s new addition was gonna hit harder than a fun-size pack of Hershey’s bars during an after-Halloween sale. It didn’t. Remarkably, the chocolate was subtle.
