This Might Be the Ultimate Summer Camping Cocktail—And It’s Just 2 Ingredients

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the Postcard Cabins in Lake Hartwell, South Carolina. Formerly known as the Getaway Cabins, the cabins are tiny, but cozy. Naturally, we arrived at the Postcard Cabins stocked with a small arsenal of spirits (and wine) for our five-day stay.

But there was one particular spirit I was most interested in trying during our trip: Licor 43 Caramel Cookie. I was sitting on the bottle for a few weeks, because I knew we’d be traveling to the cabins, and figured Licor 43 Caramel Cookie would be the perfect companion for a cabin trip.

I was a hugeee fan of Licor 43 Crème Brûlée, so I had high hopes for Caramel Cookie. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a disappointment for me. I know, I know. I hate this for us. The caramel cookie flavor didn’t shine through at all, and there was a bit of a harshness to it that wasn’t present with the Crème Brûlée.

Despite this discovery, I still had some hope for Licor 43 Caramel Cookie., and that’s how I stumbled upon what might just be the “it” cocktail for summer camping and cabin trips. So, during our cabin trip, we picked up a bottle of Ole Smoky Moonshine Banana Pudding Cream Liqueur. I’ve had it before and quickly became a fan.

I immediately knew that I had to try the Ole Smoky Banana Pudding and Licor 43 Caramel Cookie together. Because why wouldn’t you mix banana and caramel together? Initially, we also added a splash of dark rum, but it was too much. But the Ole Smoky and Licor 43 mixed together? Absolutely delicious.

Crazy enough, the caramel from the Licor 43 seemed more present when mixed with the Ole Smoky. And the banana was present, but not overpowering. The end result was a boozy sweet treat perfect for enjoying around the campfire this summer. Check out the full recipe below!
