I’m still sulking over last night’s episode of “Game Of Thrones,” but I promise I’ll snap out of it just in time to check out Chicago-based artist Hebru Brantley’s“Penny Candy” art show here in Atlanta. Taking place at the Loews Atlanta Hotel this Friday, June 7, the show will feature over 40 (purchasable) paintings, drawings, and sculptures from Brantley and promises to be quite the occasion. Keeping with the theme of the art show, SKYY Vodka will be on hand to provide attendee’s with complimentary, penny candy-themed cocktails. You can also expect plenty of hors d’œuvres and tunes from DJ Kemit and DJ Karl Injex.
The event is free to the public, and if you wish to attend be sure to head over to the “Penny Candy” Eventbrite page to RSVP. You can find more info in the flyer below.
Let’s be real here, on top of being the biggest musical festival of the year South By Southwest is also the biggest open bar extravaganza of the year. I’m sure it probably becomes a bit overwhelming trying to figure out which venues and showcases are serving up the free booze so over the next few days I’ll be compiling a list of all the SXSW events that I hear about which include some kind of open bar. You can thank me later.
Oh and P.S. just because it’s open bar it doesn’t mean you have to become a drunken lunatic. Also, since it’s free please be sure to tip whoever’s serving you your free booze.

Let’s be real here most Fashion’s Night Outevents include some form of complimentary alcoholic beverage so am I excited about this yearly fashion extravaganza? Heck yeah I am! For those of you unfamiliar with Fashion’s Night Out it’s described as an “after-hours shopping extravaganza.” The event is huuuge in New York City, but will also take place in other major cities like Atlanta, Miami, Boston, and more. You can’t help but love events that consist of both free drinks and good music. If you’re in New York City or the surrounding areas tonight (July 14) be sure to check out Vault Harlem for a free open bar event that will feature tunes from DJ ehT Mills as well as performances from Dremur, Julian Stephen, and Beano. An open bar will be provided courtesy of Budweiser and Nude Vodka, but be sure to get there early because drinks will be provided “while supplies last.” Check out the flyer below for more info.
Free drinks? Live music? Art on art on art? That’s exactly what you can expect when the Gentleman Jack sponsored Arts Beats + Lyrics event returns to Atlanta on Friday, July 29th. The event is absolutely free and all you have to do is RSVP to attend. It’s as simple as that. I’ve yet to check out Art Beats + Lyrics, but from what I’ve heard it’s an event you definitely don’t want to miss. Oh, and I did mention free Gentleman Jack cocktails right?
