Upon first visit, I was really impressed with El Bandido, a Tex-Mex restaurant located in Atlanta’s Little Five Points neighborhood. So, when I was in the middle of planning a super-last minute Happy Hour meetup before the holidays, I knew it was the perfect spot. Not only is the food on point, but their house margaritas are $2.99, every Tuesday. Despite the last minute notice, a nice-sized crowd turned up at my third ever #MeetMeAtTheBar. I had boozy gifts on deck for a few of those in attendance, and the margs had everyone in Lushworthy spirits.
In case you missed it, check out a few photos in the gallery below, and stay tuned for details on the next #MeetMeAtTheBar!
Although I’m very much a cocktail enthusiast, we switched things up a bit and took it to the brewery for the latest #MeetMeAtTheBar meetup, which took place over the weekend at the Wild Heaven Craft Beers brewery in Avondale Estates, Georgia.
A great time was definitely had as those in attendance sampled a variety of craft beers and were also treated to a pulled pork sandwich buffet complete with homemade coleslaw. I also raffled off a few Lushworthy prizes including two cocktail sets (full size bottle of Smirnoff Light with cocktail shaker), Stella & Dot jewelry, and beer bottle koozies. Thanks so much to everyone who came out!

For all our Lushworthy readers in Atlanta, I’m pleased to announce that the next #MeetMeAtTheBar meetup will take place on Saturday, August 16 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Wild Heaven Craft Beers brewery in Decatur, Georgia. I was initially planning on taking the Happy Hour route with #MeetMeAtTheBar, but I’ve visited a few Atlanta-based breweries over the past few weeks, and I love ’em!
A visit to the Wild Heaven Craft Beers brewery usually costs $12, but they’re offering $2 off for #MeetMeAtTheBar attendees on August 16. So, for only 10 bucks you get a souvenir glass and six complimentary tastings. Oh, also included in that $10 is a boozily amazing way to spend your Saturday afternoon. There may even be some prizes in the mix for those in attendance. (Prizes from the last #MeetMeAtTheBar included Kiehls gift sets and Lolita martini glasses…Just saying)
Be sure to send a RSVP to email@example.com and I look forward to seeing you all next weekend!
For quite sometime now I’ve toyed with the idea of hosting my own Happy Hour meetup series, and after putting it off for a bit I finally decided to host the first ever #MeetMeAtTheBar Happy Hour meetup last week. The meetup took place at Cook Hall (inside the W Atlanta Buckhead) during their Punch Out @ 5 Happy Hour, and lucky for us the day’s Happy Hour special was a $5 Hurricane Punch.
In addition to sipping on Hurricanes, we also nibbled on Cook Hall’s $5 Snacks throughout the evening. During Punch Out @ 5, all of the Snacks at Cook Hall are priced at only $5. And I have to say that their Popcorn Shrimp (normally $12) is hands down the gem of their Snacks menu in my opinion. It consists of fried shrimp and actual, real life popcorn and the entire dish is then drizzled with the most amazing Ranch dressing I’ve ever had. Seriously, they need to bottle the stuff and sell it pronto.
Those in attendance at #MeetMeAtTheBar also won gift bags featuring Lolita martini glasses, Kiehl’s mini gift sets, and Lushworthy t-shirts.
Thanks to everyone who came out and a special thank you to those at Cook Hall, specifically their team of bartenders and Shannon R! And for those of you who weren’t able to make it out, you can expect another #MeetMeAtTheBar at a new location in the very near future.
Hey folks! I wanted to extend a quick invitation to all my Atlanta-based readers to come and hang with me this Thursday, March 6th at Cook Hall for my #MeetMeAtTheBar Happy Hour meetup. The event will take place between 5 and 7 P.M. during Cook Hall’s Punch Out @ 5 Happy Hour. They’ll be serving up $5 specialty punch and $5 snacks during Punch Out @ 5, so be prepared to have a good time without assaulting your wallet. You can find RSVP info on the flyer above. Oh! And I’ll be giving away prizes from Kiehl’s and Lolita as well during #MeetMeAtTheBar!
You can also find me at Taste And Brews at Atlanta Food Truck Park this Saturday. If you’re also planning on attending Taste And Brews, you can use promo code “lushworthy” to save $10 on tickets (General Admission – $49, VIP – $75). That amount will change to $5 at midnight.
