I always thought the idea of “Christmas In July” was merely a marketing tool to get people to bust out their wallets months ahead of the Christmas holiday. But after talking to a friend about a “Christmas In July” house party crawl they’re taking part in this month (so awesome!), I realized that the idea of “Christmas In July” extends far beyond premature holiday shopping. In fact, it’s down right boozy.
I absolutely love, love, love holiday cocktails. They’re just so rich, decadent, and cheery! So, the idea of taking a break from your standard summer cocktails for a dessert-y, holiday-inspired drank is super enticing to me. And to help you celebrate “Christmas In July,” I’ve added the recipe to my Minty Hot Chocolate Shooters, and a handful of other holiday-heavy cocktails. Cheers!
Minty Hot Chocolate Shooters (Pictured Above)
2 oz. Smirnoff Peppermint Twist
1 Cup Cooled Hot Chocolate
Prepare hot chocolate. Allow time to cool. Pour cooled, hot chocolate in a shaker with ice. Pour Smirnoff Peppermint Twist into shaker. Shake and strain into shot glasses. Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint. (Should fill approximately six shot glasses)
1 part Hornitos Plata Tequila
½ part coconut water
½ part almond milk
Add all ingredients to a shaker over ice to chill. Shake, strain and pour into a shot glass rimmed with cinnamon and sugar.
