I love ice cream almost as much as I love booze. But to be honest, I don’t have a lot of love in my heart for vanilla ice cream. It’s just so…vanilla. Thankfully though, in honor of National Vanilla Ice Cream Day, which takes place today (July 23), mixologist Brian Floyd has created a drink recipe that takes vanilla ice cream to Lushworthy heights. The recipe for the Very Vanilla Shake is super simple, given that it only calls for Crown Royal Vanilla, vanilla ice cream, and mole bitters.
You can find the full recipe to the Very Vanilla Shake in the image above. Cheers!
If you’re like me, then you’re probably finding it hard to believe that we’ve found ourselves smack dab in the middle of yet another holiday season. Thankfully though, the newly-released Crown Royal Vanilla has a handful of cocktails that are sure to get you in the mood. The holiday mood, that is.
The Vanilla Old Fashioned is definitely calling my name, but I’m sure that in addition to the cocktails below, Crown Royal Vanilla likely works well with egg nog, hot chocolate, apple cider, and other holiday beverages. So, grab yourself a bottle and toast to your newfound holiday cheer.
Vanilla Old Fashioned
0.25 oz. Simply Syrup
1.5 oz. Crown Royal Vanilla
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
3 dashes Orange Bitters
Orange Peel Twist
In old-fashioned glass, combine simple syrup and bitters. Fill glass halfway with ice, then stir. Add enough ice to fill glass. Squeeze orange peel over glass to extract oils, add peel to glass, and add whiskey. Stir just until drink is cold and serve.
