Captain Morgan Creates A Boozy Take On The Unicorn Frappuccino With Their Loco Unicorn

Unless you live under a rock, chances are you’ve heard of or seen a million Instagram photos of Starbucks’ new Unicorn Frappuccino. Given the swift popularity of this latest drank from Starbucks, it was only a matter of time before a boozy version of the Unicorn Frappuccino surfaced. And it looks like Captain Morgan is one of the first to throw their hat in the ring. Their boozy, pastel-hued concoction is called the Loco Unicorn. And based on the list of ingredients, it actually sounds pretty darn good. The Loco Unicorn is a Lushworthy combination of Captain Morgan LocoNut, coconut water, grenadine, and genuine curacao liqueur.

You can find the full recipe to Captain Morgan’s Loco Unicorn, below. Cheers!

INGREDIENTS

6 oz. Coconut Water
2 oz. Captain Morgan LocoNut
0.25 oz. Grenadine
0.25 oz. Genuine Curacao Liqueur

DIRECTIONS

Wet the rim of a 13 oz. highball glass with water and dip the glass in edible glitter to form a rim. Fill the glass with ice, and then add the coconut water and Captain Morgan LocoNut. Captain Morgan Joins The Pumpkin Spice Frenzy With Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast

Captain Morgan Pumpkin

Upon walking into Target yesterday, I immediately locked eyes on a tank top that read: “You Had Me At Pumpkin Spice.” [Sigh] The leaves have yet to hit the ground and already pumpkin spice is invading coffee shops and big-name retailers across the nation. And with news of Captain Morgan’s pumpkin-inspired, Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast, pumpkin spice has now entered the world of booze.

Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast is described as “a fall-inspired shot that blends Caribbean rum with favorite seasonal flavors – including fresh pumpkin, cinnamon and other autumnal spices.” I’m not gonna lie, I’m curious. And from the description, it sounds like the latest from Captain Morgan could mix really well with Baileys Pumpkin Spice (or similar).

With the news of their latest flavor, the folks over at Captain Morgan have concocted the fall-friendly, Apple Jack-O cocktail, which sounds like a win. You can find the full recipe, below.

Also, the limited-edition Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast can be purchased for $15.99 (750 ml bottle). Cheers!

INGREDIENTS

1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast
4 oz. chilled apple cider

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice, stir and serve.

Here’s How You & Captain Morgan Can Help Raise Money For Charity On Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 19)

Captain Morgan Pirate DayI’ve dressed up as a pirate quite a few Halloweens and I’ve seen the Pirates Of The Caribbean films more times than I’d like to admit, so I consider myself pretty experienced when it comes to pirate lingo. And that should come in handy tomorrow (September 19) on International Talk Like A Pirate Day (TLAPD). Captain Morgan of course plans on getting in on all the fun for TLAPD  and they’ll do so while helping out a good cause.

Since Captain Morgan’s Captain & Colaaarr is the official drink of TLAPD they’ll donate $1 to charity for every consumer who utilizes the #CaptainandColaaarr and #TLAPD hashtags on social media tomorrow. Among the organizations Captain Morgan will send their donations to is City Harvest.

One of my favorite YouTube pranksters, Ed Bassmaster, is even getting in on the fun for International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Check out his newly-released “Pirate Jokes” prank.

From Brats To Bacon Bites, Check Out These Booze-Infused Recipes From Captain Morgan & Crown Royal

BBQ Chicken Bacon BitesI’m not gonna lie, the idea of cooking with booze scares me a little bit. You can’t tell me that the explosion of fire that results from flambeing a dish isn’t a little on the intimidating side. Thankfully though, not every booze-infused dish comes with the risk of singeing off one’s eyebrows. The folks at Crown Royal and Captain Morgan have come up with a handful of dishes that are made using either whiskey or rum and are perfect for this weekend’s Labor Day festivities.

Check out their recipes for BBQ Chicken Bacon Bites made with a rum-infused spicy sweet BBQ sauce and Brats With [Crown Royal] Maple-ized Onions.

Lushworthy News: D’USSE XO Enters The Market, Captain Morgan Introduces New Commemorative Blend

D'USSE XOFollowing the launch of D’USSE in 2012, the Bacardi-owned brand has welcomed its first expression, D’USSE XO. Described as “a unique blend of meticulously hand-selected eaux-de-vie, aged ten years or more,” D’USSE XO is said to boast “flavor notes of ripe blackberry and apricot, layered with hints of dark chocolate and walnut.” Sounds like a boozy trip to Godiva Chocolatier. And that definitely works for me.

“Following the highly successful launch of D’USSE VSOP, there is an opportunity to lead the evolution of the Cognac category even further,” said Robert Furniss-Roe, President of Bacardi North America. “Consumers are fascinated with dark spirits and care more than ever about the quality and level of craftsmanship in the brands they consume. D’USSE XO is the response to that request.”

For a while the newly-introduced cognac was only available to the entertainment and cocktailing elite, but now you can get your hands on a bottle of D’USSE XO for a cool $230.

The Cap’n Welcomes New Captain Morgan 1671 Commemorative Blend.

Captain Morgan 1671Legend has it that Captain Henry Morgan lost five ships while traveling to Panama City, Panama in the late 1600’s. Among the ships he lost was his flagship, Satisfaction.

What was the point of that brief history lesson, you ask? Well, the new, limited edition Captain Morgan 1671 Commemorative Blend is inspired by the Satisfaction. In fact, Captain Morgan’s latest spirit is finished in Spanish Oak, which is said to have also been used in the barrels that were on board Captain Morgan’s doomed ship. Kinda cool, right?

Also cool is the fact that it’s one of few commemorative blends that’s affordable. You can get your hands on a bottle of Captain Morgan 1671 Commemorative Blend (750 mL) for only $19.99.
