If you live in the Southeast, a trip to Nashville, Tennessee is perfect for a weekend getaway. Live music is seemingly infinite and the food is slap-ya-mama good. I recently had the opportunity to visit Nashville for a quick one-nighter to explore the city for the first time, and to also check out the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Although my time spent at the Loews didn’t surpass 24-hours, it was pretty clear how Lushworthy of a hotel it is. And here’s why…
Killer Craft Cocktails – Looking for carefully-crafted cocktails in a subtly chic setting? Mason Bar should be right up your alley. Located inside the Loews Vanderbilt, Mason Bar serves craft cocktails and sophisticated bar bites until about midnight. As a self-proclaimed Old Fashioned connoisseur, the “Mason Old Fashioned,” with its combination of bourbon, peach syrup, and bitter was perfection.
On the food end, I highly recommend the Fried Green Tomato Tacos. I usually despise tomatoes, but I do enjoy a good, fried green tomato. Yes, I understand how crazy that sounds. The tacos boasted an unexpected, but pleasant combination of ingredients, including fried green tomatos, shaved apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and a secret sauce. Somewhat of a splurge at $9 for two tacos, but worth it.
Be Chauffeured In Style – Thanks to Uber and Lyft, getting around while out of town is much easier than it used to be. Unfortunately though, ride sharing services can come with surge pricing and unexpected inflation in popular cities (sup New York?). The Loews Vanderbilt has got ya covered though.
From 8 A.M. to 10 P.M., the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle for rides within three miles. And we’re not talking about a lame minivan. The Loews shuttle is a luxury SUV that is sure to make you the envy of Nashville-iens. Probably not, but it was hella convenient. Also, a wise choice when you’ve indulged in cocktails at Mason Bar.
Boozy Perks In The Concierge Lounge – My stay at the Loews served as my first time in a hotel room with access to a premium floor, and it’s so worth it. The premium rooms at the Loews come with access to the Concierge Lounge, which serves wine and appetizers for two hours each day, and continental breakfast every morning from 7 A.M. to 10 A.M.
We were so eager to check out the Concierge Lounge for wine and apps that we arrived there a whopping 10-minutes early. No worries though, the host for the lounge allowed us to cozy up to a table and soon returned with a glass of Cabernet for each of us. The service in the lounge was just as on point as their duck and waffle sliders. Not a fan of vino? The Concierge Lounge also features craft beers, soda, and water.
Location, Location, LUSHWORTHY Location – Even without the complimentary shuttle, the Loews Vanderbilt is in a location that’s pretty close to a lot of restaurants, bars, and other nightlife. Broadway, with its bounty of bars featuring live music, is less than two miles away. Additionally, within walking distance you’ll find a handful of restaurants with full beer and cocktail menus.

***A complimentary one-night stay and a food/drink tasting was provided by the Loews Vanderbilt, but the thoughts in this post are fully my own.
