In a recent conversation with a drinking buddy of mine, the Long Island Iced Tea became the topic of focus. Though we’ve both enjoyed our fair share of the highly potent cocktail, something stood out to us both…THERE’S NO ACTUAL ICED TEA in any variation of this classic recipe. At that moment, a light bulb (though dim) turned on in my head and I began to brainstorm over a possible iced tea cocktail that actually tastes like iced tea. Keep reading, I think you’ll like what the final result ended up being.
Honey whiskey/bourbon liqueurs have taken the liquor market by storm in recent years. They’re delicious and easy to enjoy and would make a nice boozy base for our creation. For our sweet tea, Wild Turkey American Honey rests at the core of our glasses along with some homemade iced tea. Consider this an open ended cocktail that you can alter depending on preference. If you like your iced tea to have a hint of fruitiness, go ahead and muddle some fresh fruit in your glass. Just treat it as you would your regular iced tea recipe, you won’t go wrong. Hope this drink finds you in a good place, cheers and enjoy.
