Six Must-Have Holiday Cocktails (From Maker’s Mark, Smirnoff & More)

Baileys Crown Royal AppleYou’ve got enough to worry about during the holidays, so you’re choice in cocktails should be the last thing on your mind. In fact, I’ve created a list of six, holiday-friendly cocktails that are definite go-tos this holiday season. That way the only thing you have to worry about in the coming weeks is not burning down your kitchen with another deep-fried turkey attempt, keeping your uncle away from the gin during Thanksgiving dinner, and you know, all that other fun holiday stuff.

Baileys Salted Caramel & Crown Royal Regal Apple (Pictured Above) – I’m not sure about you guys’ family, but for some reason my fam tends to go IN on the Baileys during the holiday season. So, why not add a tangy twist to your Baileys on the rocks this season with a splash of the new Crown Royal Regal Apple?


1 oz. Baileys® Salted Caramel Irish Cream Liqueur
0.5 oz. Crown Royal® Regal Apple Flavored Whisky
0.25 oz. Caramel syrup to rim shot glass1 green apple slice


Mix ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a shot glass rimmed with caramel. Garnish with an apple slice.

Kissed Caramel Mule – The classic Moscow Mule gets a decadent, holiday makeover thanks to Smirnoff.

Kissed Caramel Mule


1.5 oz. Smirnoff® Kissed Caramel Flavored Vodka
1.5 oz .Ginger Ale
1.5 oz. Club Soda
Squeeze of Lime
A Dash of Bitters


Combine all ingredients and serve over ice in a copper mug.

Pumpkinpalooza – No need to get your hands dirty making this cocktail since it’s one of a handful of holiday cocktails featured at Hard Rock Cafe. Also, bourbon, pumpkin, ice cream…Need I say more?



2 ½ oz. Makers Mark
2 ½ oz. Pumpkin real puree infused syrup
4 scoops Vanilla ice cream


Blend ingredients. Garnish with whipped Cream and caramel syrup.

Pumpkin Spice Sipper – Love the combination of pumpkin and cocktails, but aren’t a fan of decadent drinks like our friend, Pumpkinpalooza? Well, Skinnygirl Vodka has created a holiday-friendly cocktail that’s heavy on the pumpkin and light on the calories.

Pumpkin Spice Sipper


1 ½ parts Skinnygirl® Bare Naked Vodka
1 part canned unsweetened pumpkin
¾ part fat free sweetened condensed milk
¾ part unsweetened almond milk
½ tbsp pumpkin pie spice


Shake ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

Autumn Sangria – Sangria has long been known as a refreshing, summer drink, but you can easily add a few extra ingredients to make this boozy summer staple, holiday ready.

Autumn Sangria


1 cup vanilla vodka
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups apple cider
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 apples
2 pears
1 orange
2 bottles HobNob Chardonnay


Combine vodka, sugar, apple cider and pumpkin pie spice in a large pitcher and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Chop fruit (apples, pears, orange), add to mix and marinate overnight. Add chilled Chardonnay. Serve over ice.

Cranberry Orange Margarita – You gotta love that the margarita is a cocktail that can be served year-round. Cheers to this Sauza marg, which is heavy on the holiday flavor.

Cranberry Orange Margarita


1 ½ parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ part DeKuyper® Triple Sec
4 parts cranberry juice
2 parts orange juice
2 oranges
½ cup cranberries, frozen
2 tbsp. sugar


First make your garnishes. Freeze ½ cup of cranberries. Using a channel knife cut a long spiral from on orange (see if you can make it all the way in one try!) and cut into 6 inch pieces. Twist the peels around your bar spoon and reserve for garnish.

Zest the other orange with a spice grater to remove just the peel and none of the pith and combine with sugar.

Cut the zested orange into wedges. Rub a wedge of orange around half the rim of your glasses. Roll the glasses through the sugared orange zest.

In a shaker, combine the rest of the sugar and orange zest mixture with the cranberry juice, orange juice, Sauza® Blue Silver, orange liqueur, and the juice from the orange. Twist the orange peel over the drink and place on the prepared glass. Top with frozen cranberries and serve your cocktail! Salud!
