I’m going to go ahead and call it now, but the biggest cocktail trend this spring/summer will hands down be anything that features a floral element. It’s only January and already the floral trend is off to an impressive start. ABSOLUT Vodka recently announced that ABSOLUT HIBISKUS will be their newest flavor profile and on top of that, earlier in the month Bacardi acquired St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur in a major power move. Flowers are clearly having the best month ever as far as liquor is concerned.
Expected to hit shelves nationwide later this month, ABSOLUT HIBISKUS will flaunt an enticing blend of hibiscus and pomegranate.
“In recent years, a sophisticated trend has emerged, as more and more bartenders are adding floral ingredients to the mix,” said Eric Horowitz, Senior Brand Manager – ABSOLUT, Pernod Ricard USA. “The distinctive combination of Hibiskus will appeal to consumers who have tired of the confectionary flavored vodka category and are looking for something for a more refined palate with no added sugar or preservatives.”
