Pools in paradise, does it really get much better than that? One might think not, but with the opening of Aruba Marriott Resort’s new adults-only H2Oasis pool it’s about to. I’m gonna be really honest with you guys for a second. When I’m on vacation in some tropical country, relaxing in a pool, sipping on a delicious cocktail do you know what really irks me? When little, five-year-old Billy throws an inflatable volleyball at my head. Definitely a mood killer. Kids are cool, but there’s certain environments where it’s nice to just be with yur fellow adults. H2Oasis is exactly that. It’s an adults-only pool where you won’t have to worry about Billy flicking a booger into your mojito. And from what I’ve heard they’re also serving up some killer cocktails. Here’s a little more information on H2Oasis:
“The new 10,000 square foot adults-only pool and lounge area offers adult guests of the Aruba Marriott Resort respite from ‘family time.’ The area features private cabanas for lounging or receiving professional massages, and supplies plentiful adult libations as well as the occasional DJ party.”
The drink recipe below is just a small sample of what you can expect at H2Oasis.
Looks like these liquor (and beer) company’s are in the mood for spreading the wealth this month and next because there are contests everywhere! Gentleman Jack is giving away Atlanta Hawks tickets, Belvedere Vodka wants to fly you and a friend to see Mary J. Blige in L.A., and Heineken is giving away $5,000 cash to one of you amazing artists out there. Below is more information on each contest as well as a link to enter.
What’s cooler than rapper Big Boi and whisky? I’m pretty sure that’s about as cool as it gets folks. The rapper has finally released the full version of his “The Crown Life” documentary which is a part of his partnership with Crown Royal Black. While the documentary is a pretty cool look at what goes on behind the scenes when an artist is performing overseas (and buying underwear in foreign stores), I am a bit disappointed that no one was spotted sipping on a “Whisky Sour Remix.”
Looks like Ciroc lovers are already embracing the idea of yet another fruity flavor being added to the brand, but I’m not so sure about the legitimacy of this one. The only proof of Ciroc Watermelon is a picture of a random person holding a bottle of the watermelon-flavored vodka. The bottle looks very real and comparing it with the Ciroc Red Berry bottle everything seems to be there. The font is right and so is the coloring, but I don’t understand why a random person would have a bottle of an unreleased flavor. It’s obviously not Diddy and I’m pretty sure the big wigs at Diageo aren’t rocking wrist tattoos.
Also, watermelon seems like a really odd flavor choice for Ciroc. I thought peach was a little iffy, but watermelon-flavored Ciroc does seem a bit “basic.” Ciroc puts itself out there as a high-end brand and watermelon seems better suited for a brand like Smirnoff. If Ciroc did release a watermelon flavor the jokes would be endless and I’m pretty sure they’re aware of that. So if you ask me I’m going to have to say that Ciroc Watermelon is pure liquor fiction. Maybe the bottle was photoshopped or maybe it’s a real bottle created by someone with way too much time on their hands.
For the sweetheart-less sweetheart Valentine’s Day can be quite the dreaded holiday, but nothing fixes Valentine’s Day woes like the perfect cocktail. So that was of course the goal for my most recent “Lushworthy Creation,” create a close to perfect cocktail that would make for a fun addition to your numerous Valentine’s Day themed cocktails. Alize’s Red Passion flavor just screams Valentine’s Day to me and you really can’t go wrong with a little Pinnacle Whipped Vodka here and there.
Before I gave it some thought I was planning on calling this drink the “Sweetheart Martini,” but I wanted to represent for the fellow Valentine’s Day haters, single ladies, etc. so that’s when I decided to call it the “Solo Sweetheart Martini.”
I personally believe that there isn’t anything tastier than a slice of delicious pizza paired with your favorite cocktail. “Match made in heaven” is truly an understatement when it comes to that blissful combination. With that being said if you happen to reside in or near the city of Atlanta then you should definitely check out “Westside Pie Wednesdays” which takes place every week at Westside Pie in Midtown and features $3 drinks and $1 pizza slices. Yes, slices for a buck and drinks for three dollars. Sounds like a win to me.
