Now this is one sexy Hennessy bottle. I thought the KAWS bottle was pretty amazing, but this latest addition to the Hennessy Privilege Collection might just take the cake. I absolutely love the color scheme which is a combination of various metallics including a translucent platinum and metallic purple. It’s kind of giving me a holiday vibe too, it’s very New Years Eve 2012.
“The new Hennessy Privilege packaging is a fresh adaptation of our iconic bottle and represents unique characteristics discovered within the bottle and inherent to those who enjoy Hennessy,” said Jennifer Yu, Director of Communications, Hennessy. “The collector edition’s smooth, sophisticated and distinct design evokes the imagination and conjures the endless possibilities when exploring the unknown or crafting the perfect night out.”
The Hennessy Privilege Collectors bottle will hit shelves on December 1st and will retail for $45.99 – $49.99 (750 ml bottle).
If you’re a fan of Kahlúa then you’ll be very pleased to hear that the rum-based liqueur recently launched the brand spanking new Kahlúa Cinnamon Spice. Kahlúa Cinnamon Spice seems like such an ideal fall spirit so I’ve already got tons of drink recipes swirling around my head. On top of that Kahlúa Cinnamon Spice seems like it’ll be a great spirit for creating warm drinks which are perfect for these colder months. But if you’re a little low on the creative cocktail ideas then you should probably kick things off with the “Hot Mexican Cider.” And hopefully that’ll give ya a little cocktail inspiration.
1.5 0z Kahlúa Cinnamon Spice
3 oz Hot Apple Cider
.25 oz Of Fresh Lemon Juice
Shake all ingredients and serve in a glass mug. Garnish with dash of nutmeg or cinnamon.
I don’t know about you all, but I like my cocktails sweet and tasty so suffice it to say that I’m not a huge fan of the Bloody Mary. But if you’re like me and are a little leery of this somewhat infamous cocktail then you may want to try out EFFEN Vodka’sversion of the Bloody Mary. Unlike most recipes for this drink EFFEN uses their Cucumber Vodka and also calls for basil in their ingredients list. Check out the recipe below and maybe, just maybe, it’ll turn us Bloody Mary skeptics into believers.
2 parts EFFEN® Cucumber Vodka
2 Basil Leaves (torn)
4 parts Tomato Juice
3⁄4 parts Bloody Mary Seasoning
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice and shake. Pour into a serving glass with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel and fresh basil leaf.
I have a feeling that I’ll be saying this a lot, but the “Chocolate Monkey” really is my favorite “Lushworthy Creation” yet! And I’m awfully proud of myself for creating a drink recipe that’s pretty close to the best drink I’ve ever had. The combination of chocolate and banana really is amazing. I’m not exaggerating one bit when I say my mouth never left the straw when I was drinking this latest Lushworthy concoction. Check out the ingredients I used below.
I highly suggest you turn up the heat, put on your favorite pair of flip-flops, and imagine you’re relaxing on a beach in The Bahamas while sipping on the “Chocolate Monkey.” It’s definitely a summer drink, but you have my permission to enjoy it during these cooler months.
2 oz. Godiva Chocolate Vodka
2 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
Handful Of Ice
Combine two scoops of vanilla ice cream, Godiva Chocolate Vodka, half a banana, and a handful of ice in a blender. Add chocolate syrup, the amount you add really depends on how chocolate-y you want your drink. Blend ingredients, then pour into a tall glass, and top with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
I actually had the pleasure of reviewing Cocktail Cupcakes late last year for AOL’s CitysBest.com and the cupcakes are quite the tasty concoction. And as the name implies Cocktail Cupcakes are in fact made using various liquors. The company will be celebrating their two-year-anniversary next month with a shindig at Drinkshop at the W Hotel Downtown. And yes, that is home of the “Old Cuban” I blogged about earlier this month. The event is open to the public and will take place on Friday, November 4th. Check out the flyer above for more details.
Last night I had the opportunity to attend the Atlanta launch for Sidney Frank’s American Harvest Organic Spirit at Midtown restaurant Abbatoir and I have to say it was quite the interesting event. I say interesting because I learned quite a few things about the Sidney Frank brand and American Harvest. For instance American Harvest marks Sidney Frank’s return to the vodka category since Grey Goose was sold for an absurd amount of money several years ago. Two billion dollars to be exact and yes that’s billion with a “B.”
Liquor factoids aside it turned out to be a great event. I tried out several American Harvest cocktails and I have to say my favorite of the night was the “Local Harvest” which was made with American Harvest, basil, cucumber, agave nectar, and fresh lime juice. I also tried American Harvest straight to get a feel for how the spirit tastes by itself and it does have a very clean flavor. There was also a very subtle vanilla flavor going on with the spirit or maybe my taste buds were playing games with me. On top of the various American Harvest cocktails guests were also treated to a small buffet featuring shrimp, chicken tenders, fresh vegetables, and more. Later in the evening the Atlanta Community Food Bank was presented with a check on behalf of Sidney Frank and American Harvest and “Top Chef” Richard Blais led everyone in a toast.
